English literacy rates in Thailand remain one of the lowest in Asia, so this is a perfect opportunity for you to impart your knowledge and skills to the young generation of the Thai Community through teaching them the English language and other sets of skills that they may use in their future endeavours.

This program consists of working with students in various schools teaching English. Many schools are open to new concepts and approaches to teaching. This means that you may be able to share your new ideas and teaching strategies that might complement the local Thai teaching methods or style. In addition, you are teaching at the classrooms which roughly 15 - 40 students per class with one teacher and range from 2.5- 18 years old.

This teaching program serves a dual purpose: First, it is meant to help children in rural Thailand have a chance to speak more English (usually even their teachers are not fluent speakers). Secondly, it will give you an insight into the Thai education system, as well as a  good chance to develop friendships with students and teachers.

During the program, you will leave the centre between 08:30 a.m., 09:30 a.m, 11.00 a.m. and 1. 00 p.m. depending on the school. Expect also to teach for 2-3 hours in a day. The classes will be scheduled either in the morning or afternoon based on the availability of the time slot and the school. Further, there are days when you have to teach kids in both morning and afternoon. Lunch will usually be served at the school or the centre depending on the program scheduled on a particular day. You will be working alongside other teachers and participants in the class where you can also help create lesson plans and organise activities in the classroom.

Holiday Program

Meanwhile, please take note of the long holidays, school holidays as well as public holidays. During such times you can join special classes and English camps that are regularly requested by the local community. If the need at this time is at the local child development centre, please keep in mind that you will be working with young children who will require a much different approach than primary or secondary school. Please use your creative skills through song, dance, games, and repetition to help young children to learn and enjoy their introduction to basic educational concepts.

Finally, before you go to the placement, you will work with local coordinators and review the teaching lessons, materials and activities for that day to ensure continuous lesson plans for children.

2026 Start Dates: Every Monday

To volunteer with this program, there is a minimum duration requirement of 4 weeks. We do recommend volunteering for longer durations if possible, but the very minimum duration for our programs involving children is 4 weeks.

This volunteer program runs all year round and starts every Monday. However, we recommend arriving on the Sunday to check into your accommodation and prepare for your program to start the following morning.

Hua Hin is a lively fisherman town and popular tourist destination, and it has a lot to offer besides just sunbathing, snorkeling and swimming at its golden beaches. Not only are there plenty of seafood restaurants and other eateries to choose from, but visitors can also enjoy golf, spas, shops, markets (including a popular night market), and Hua Hin’s Vana Nava water park.

You might also consider visiting Khao Takiab, a mountain at the end of the beach with a temple atop that overlooks the beach.

Beautiful national parks also surround Hua Hin. You might decide to go slightly further afield to explore the likes of the Pa La-U Waterfall, located 60 km west of Hua Hin in the south side of the Kaeng Krachan National Park. Alternatively, 45 km to the south of Hua Hin is the mystical Phraya Nakhon cave for the more adventurous!
